The ePM1 80% bag filter is the finest grade in our bag filter range — a high-efficiency pocket filter for air handling units and ventilation systems demanding the highest standard of fine particulate filtration. Previously classified as F9 under EN 779, it captures at least 80% of particulate matter down to 1 micron, removing fine dust, smoke and the majority of airborne bacteria-carrying particles.
Its high-efficiency multi-pocket construction maintains good dust-holding capacity and service life despite the finer media. A key application is protecting HEPA filtration downstream — because HEPA filters are costly, an F9/ePM1 bag is commonly installed ahead of them to extend their life by removing finer particles first.
Where it’s installed: as the final filtration stage in high-specification AHUs, or as the last filter before a HEPA stage in cleanrooms, healthcare and critical environments.
Why choose it: when air quality requirements are high, or where it’s protecting expensive downstream HEPA filtration, F9 (ePM1 80%) is the grade to specify.
A note on classification: EN 779 F9 and ISO 16890 ePM1 80% are close historical equivalents rather than an identical rating — the two standards measure filter performance differently. Use F9 as the legacy cross-reference.
