The ePM1 60% bag filter delivers fine filtration for air handling units and ventilation systems where cleaner air is required than a standard F7 can provide. Formerly classified as F8 under EN 779, it captures at least 60% of the finest particulate matter down to 1 micron — including fine dust, smoke particles and a significant share of airborne bacteria-carrying particles.
Built as a multi-pocket bag filter, it combines a large filtration surface area with strong dust-holding capacity, making it well suited to final filtration duties in environments with elevated air quality requirements — healthcare, laboratories, cleaner commercial spaces and precision manufacturing.
Where it’s installed: as the final filter in an AHU, downstream of coarse and often ePM2.5/F7 pre-filtration.
Why choose it: when F7 isn’t fine enough but full F9 is more than the application needs, F8 (ePM1 60%) is the balanced middle ground — noticeably finer filtration at a sensible pressure drop.
A note on classification: EN 779 F8 and ISO 16890 ePM1 60% are approximate historical equivalents, not an exact conversion — the standards use different test methods. Treat F8 as the legacy reference.
